Armitage Jones’ new headquarters is a relaxed and welcoming workspace. We collaborated with Bergman & Co to provide functional lighting that complements the modern, flexible fitout.
Located in the heritage-listed Little Bourke Street Building in Melbourne, Armitage Jones has a flexible interior scheme in which hospitality-inspired zones sit alongside residential-style elements, creating a workspace with a laidback feel.
Bergman & Co gutted the entire level to create a large open-plan office for the team of 27. Spaces are subtly divided with linear shelving that maintains transparency and natural light, while the original barrel-vaulted concrete ceiling has a gently curving form that enhances the sense of space and loftiness.
The workspace is calming and relaxed with ceiling, walls, floors and joinery painted in a soft blue-grey tone, complemented by furnishings, fixtures and lighting in crisp white. Pairs of Sphera Elle lights provide illumination above the desks, mounted on a white track that extends across and below the vaulted ceiling.
Other zones in the office, such as meeting rooms and collaboration spaces, are defined by bold burgundy and mustard hues. They feature Sphera Mattia recessed downlights and Sphera Pinlight, both in a Dulux custom colour, and the decorative and functional Sphera O-lamp.
